And it was all yellow

My lemon tote has become my official beach bag.

Really, what other choice did I have? It screams “beach.”

Alex and I spent a lovely holiday weekend in Sarasota, about an hour south of where we live in Tampa. We relaxed on the beach. Drank wine on the balcony of our hotel room overlooking the water. Watched the sun set. Enjoyed an amazing breakfast at a tiny cafe in Saint Armand’s Circle.

I can sum up the trip in one color: yellow. There was yellow everywhere we turned. It was sunny and bright. My beach bag was yellow. People wore yellow. The tiles on the bar where we ate dinner were yellow. Our morning omelettes were — of course — yellow. The beach umbrellas were yellow.

It was such a cheerful, sunny weekend that the yellow theme just seemed to fit.

And after giving it several days of thought, I’ve decided that I do not like how the magazine holder turned out. Oh well. You live, you learn.

Also, my mom mentioned that she loves the set of coasters I made (thanks, Mom!), so perhaps someone will be getting a homemade gift in the near future.

AHHH Sarasota….we spent so much time there when my parents were in Bradenton and Aunt Stella and Uncle Kelly were on Siesta Key….I think the west coast is SO MUCH NICER than the east coast of Fla, do you???? I love the shells….especially the coquina!
