A gift for me. Yes, me!
Alex and I spent our Sunday morning hiking through Hillsborough River State Park.
We saw an alligator and two turtles chillin’ on a log in the middle of the river. Alex’s goal for the hike was to see an alligator, so he was quite happy.
I spent the afternoon sewing a new bag based on the design of the bag I made for Chellie (which she likes, by the way. Whew!).
I’m keeping this bag. I was thinking of selling it in the Boutique, but I really love it. Also, although there is a corduroy base to give the bag some support, the majority of the bag is a soft, thin fabric that tends to “flop.” If I make another version for the shop, I’ll have to incorporate some interfacing to make it sturdier. I wouldn’t feel right selling it the way it is now. So what does that mean? A gift for me!
I love, love, love the retro pink fabric. I lined it in a vintage-inspired soft green fabric. I actually purchased the two fabrics at the same time but never thought of putting them together until I made this bag.
The bottom has a fabric-covered removable base for extra support.
I have so many things that I should be making for upcoming birthdays, the holidays, and special orders, but I keep making everything but. I really need to stop procrastinating.
