Sixty-one days

Last weekend was the perfect mixture of busy and relaxing. I love weekends like that.

Not much sewing got done, but that’s okay. A girl’s gotta step away from the sewing machine occasionally, you know? With 61 days left until Atomic Holiday Bazaar and a calendar of extremely full weekends coming up (including Craft Roots!), I’m still feeling the pressure. But it was good to take a short break.

I’ve been working on some market totes. I’m dying to make one for myself, but I just don’t have time right now.

I think one of these roomy totes would make a perfect beach bag. They’re huge and so durable. And machine washable, which is really the only way to get wet sand out of a bag.

I’m starting to run low on corduroy, so I’m using up everything I have before treating myself to a trip to the fabric store. I’m trying to be really good and only buy new fabric when I absolutely have to.

I especially love the color combination on this one:

I’m telling you, I’m about ready to grab one of these for myself!

But I won’t. I have more self-control than that. (I think.)
